Activists Rallied Outside Rothfus’ Office with Mobile Billboard

June 27, 2018

Carnegie, PA — Today, For Our Future – Pennsylvania and local advocates held a press conference near Congressman Keith Rothfus’ North Hills office to voice their concerns over his disastrous health care vote.

The press conference featured a mobile billboard from House Majority PAC focused on Rothfus’ vote for a devastating “Age Tax,” which according to AARP would allow insurance companies to charge people aged 50-64 up to five times more than younger consumers. The billboard traveled a route throughout the 17th Congressional District with additional stops in Mt. Lebanon and Beaver County. It also features a website, www.AgeTaxFacts.com, where voters can learn more about the GOP health care bill.

“Congressman Rothfus’ priorities are clear. He voted to make health care unaffordable for older Americans in his own state and across the country,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “Voters in PA-17 deserve a Representative who will stand up for them, which is why we’re helping make sure folks in this district know the facts about Rothfus’ toxic record.”

“For Our Future Pennsylvania commends the constituents of Congressman Rothfus who came out to let him know that the Age Tax on older Americans is unacceptable. By voting in favor of the GOP’s American Health Care Act, he made it clear he supports increased health care costs for our seniors and our families. He has shown he is not on our side, voting in the interest of corporations, not his constituents,” said Molly Stieber, communications director, For Our Future Pennsylvania.
