HMP Ads in NJ-11: Webber’s Stone Age Views Would Embarrass Jersey

October 11, 2018

Washington, DC – House Majority PAC announced a series of two TV ads in the race for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. The ads showcase how embarrassingly out-of-touch Republican candidate Jay Webber is with hardworking New Jersey families on issues ranging from taxes to women’s rights and marriage equality.

“Jay Webber is wildly out-of-touch with New Jersey,” said House Majority PAC Press Secretary Hannah Blatt. “He backs the toxic GOP tax plan that raises taxes on the middle class and even advocates for policies that would restrict the rights of women and LGBTQ Americans. It’s clear, Jay Webber’s views are so far removed from the values of New Jersey voters that he might as well be stuck in the Stone Age.”

The ad “Evolved Caveman” showcases Jay Webber’s extreme voting record as a New Jersey Assemblyman. Webber was only one of two legislators to vote against equal pay for women, and he sponsored a bill to make gay marriage illegal. On top of this, Webber thinks abortion should be illegal in all cases, no exceptions.

The ad “Barbaric Caveman” spotlights Jay Webber’s unwavering support for the GOP tax plan that hurts hardworking New Jersey families – limiting deductions for homeowners and raising taxes on the middle class. Webber supports this plan, even though New Jersey taxes are already among the highest in the nation.

“Evolved Caveman” and “Barbaric Caveman,” will run on cable in the New York City media market with a buy of approximately $870,000 behind them.
