WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Majority PAC announced that, as part of its Congressional Accountability Campaign, it will launch billboards and mobile billboards in the districts of House Republicans, across the country, holding them accountable for their votes for the disastrous American Health Care Act (AHCA) – specifically the bill’s unfair age tax. The first billboard, targeting Congressman Fred Upton (MI-06), goes up in Kalamazoo, MI today, August 7, and will run for four weeks. More billboards and mobile billboards will be announced in the coming weeks.
The age tax would allow insurance companies to charge people 50 and over premiums up to five times more than younger people. The billboards will direct voters to a new website www.agetaxfacts.com where they can learn how they could be impacted by the age tax that their Republican Member voted for.
“HMP is making sure voters know the facts about House Republican’s disastrous healthcare bill including the devastating age tax that would wrongly penalize older Americans,” said Jeb Fain, Senior Communications Advisor for House Majority PAC. “The American people deserve far better from Congress, and we’ll be helping them hold House Republicans across the country accountable for their unforgiveable votes on health care.”
