Michael Grimm To Sandy Victims: No "Profound" Effects From Sequestration

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today released a new video highlighting Rep. Michael Grimm’s claim that automatic budget cuts would have no “profound” effect, despite the fact that sequestration requires slicing nearly $3 billion from Sandy relief funds.

Grimm told WABC-TV’s “Up Close” program Sunday, “these cuts can’t have that profound effects.” Yet nearly $2.9 billion in Sandy aid will be cut from FEMA, Army Corps of Engineers, transportation repair and block grant accounts. That, even while parts of New York and New Jersey hardest hit by Sandy remain disaster areas.

The video can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWN6opL6E5w.

“Michael Grimm and the Tea Party Congress flat out refused to find a balanced sequestration solution and now communities ravaged by Hurricane Sandy are being forced to pay the price,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC.

Michael Grimm is one of House Majority PAC’s top 10 GOP targets.
