Schilling losing to generic Democrat in head-to-head
The House Majority PAC today released a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) poll that shows Representative Bobby Schilling in serious jeopardy of losing reelection.
In Illinois’ newly redrawn 17th Congressional District, only 39% of voters would like to reelect Bobby Schilling, while 49% would prefer someone else. Just 32% have a favorable opinion of the Republicans in Congress, with 54% holding a negative one.
What’s more, Schilling is losing 40-44 when voters are asked who they would support in a race for Congress — Schilling or a Democratic challenger.
“Republican incumbents such as Bobby Schilling running in swing districts are in serious trouble and Republican control of the House is in serious jeopardy,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of the House Majority PAC. “Come next November, Illinois voters will hold Schilling and House Republicans accountable for failing to fight for middle class families.”
Public Policy Polling conducted this survey on behalf of House Majority PAC between October 19th and 23rd. In IL-17 970 registered voters were interviewed with a margin of error of +/-3.2%.
