Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC congratulates Representative-Elect Kim Schrier on her victory in Washington’s 8th Congressional District.

WA-08 had been traditionally a Republican stronghold. However, with the retirement of longtime Republican incumbent Congressman Dave Reichert opening up this seat and a weak perennial Republican candidate in Dino Rossi, this district quickly became a prime pick-up opportunity.
HMP ran two TV ads in the Seattle media market in partnership with EMILY’s List’s independent expenditure operation, WOMEN VOTE!. The ads showcased Rossi’s toxic voting record – stripping health care coverage from 45,000 children and supporting the GOP tax scam, which gives massive tax breaks to the ultra-rich and raises taxes on the middle class.
HMP ran two additional ads in WA-08. One further emphasized Rossi’s support for the GOP tax plan while the other shined a light on Dino Rossi’s support for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and his health care record – siding with drug companies over increased prescription drug costs.
Additionally, HMP ran extensive digital campaigns, first in the summer, and then partnering with Priorities USA Action in the fall. Both digital campaigns were also focused on Rossi’s support for the GOP tax plan.
