Mia Love – “Little Bit”

October 31, 2012

HOUSE MAJORITY PAC CLOSING ARGUMENT IN UT-04 – NOT MUCH TO LOVE ABOUT MIA LOVE

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today rolled out its final TV ad in UT-04, focusing on the truth behind Mia Love’s record.

The spot, entitled “Little Bit,” begins running in Salt Lake City today and will continue through Election Day at a cost of $225,000.

“Little Bit” is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXC9ADdWfDs.

“Mia Love talks a lot about being mayor, but what she doesn’t like to talk about is when, as mayor, she raised taxes, nearly doubled spending and ran up a $2.5 million deficit,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “With a record like that, Mia Love definitely doesn’t belong in Congress.”

Matheson Continues To Lead Mia Love In House Majority PAC/Center Forward Poll

October 15, 2012

WASHINGTON – A new poll conducted by House Majority PAC and Center Forward shows Rep. Jim Matheson leading Mia Love by a margin of 48% to 41%.  The poll, conducted by Global Strategy Group, demonstrates Matheson’s strength headed into the final weeks of the campaign in Utah’s 4th Congressional District.

“One thing’s for sure, Utahns know that Mia Love has the wrong priorities,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “After all, Love wants to completely eliminate the funding that helps Utah students afford college, supports a plan to gut Medicare and ignored the needs of Saratoga Springs residents, leaving them high and dry after a flood hit their neighborhood.”

“These numbers speak for themselves,” Cori Smith, Executive Director of Center Forward. ”Jim has been an independent voice in Washington for years, and it is clear that Utahns know that he will continue to work across the aisle to develop commonsense solutions to our nation’s biggest challenges.”

The poll of 407 likely voters in UT-04 was conducted October 9-10. It has a +/- 4.9% margin of error.

HOUSE MAJORITY PAC RELEASES NEW TV ADS IN NC-07, UT-04

Spots Reveal Truth About Republicans David Rouzer, Mia Love

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today released television advertisements in NC-07 and UT-04 revealing the truth behind the claims David Rouzer and Mia Love are making.

In North Carolina, House Majority PAC is spending approximately $65,000 in a two-week buy in Wilmington. In Utah, House Majority PAC is spending approximately $200,000 in a two-week buy in Salt Lake City.

The NC-07 ad, entitled “Hurt,” is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jb-lGOG9IIQ

The UT-04 ad, entitled “Resume,” is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfgRAnjHSkk

“House Majority PAC is continuing our paid media offensive to hold Republican candidates accountable and reveal the truth to voters,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC.

On the NC-07 ad, Lapp said, “With lobbyist-turned-politician David Rouzer backing a plan to essentially end Medicare and force seniors to pay more for care, it’s clear Rouzer is out of touch with North Carolina values.

On the UT-04 ad, Lapp said, “Mia Love touts her supposed fiscal conservatism, but the truth is as a city councilmember she voted to raise property taxes and allowed spending to nearly double, all before taking a 30 percent pay raise as mayor.”

Jim Matheson Leads Mia Love by Double Digits in House Majority PAC/Center Forward Poll

July 31, 2012

Washington, D.C. – A new poll conducted for House Majority PAC and Center Forward shows Jim Matheson leading Mia Love by 18 points, 51-33 percent. The poll also showed that Matheson has a very high favorable rating of 65 percent, while Love is viewed much less favorably.

An analysis memo from the polling firm, Global Strategy Group, is available here: http://www.thehousemajoritypac.com/images/UT-04-Poll-Memo.pdf.

“There is no question about it, Mia Love is out of touch with Utah voters,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “Whether it’s promoting a plan that essentially ends Medicare, backing efforts to eliminate the student loan programs that help Americans afford college or taking a pay raise as mayor even though Saratoga Springs faced financial collapse, Mia Love has the wrong priorities.”

“This poll underscores Congressman Matheson’s strength among Utahns. The people of Utah continue to support Jim year after year because he is a true independent who has a longstanding record of working with both parties to do what’s right on behalf of his constituents. This election will be no different,” said Cori Smith, Executive Director of Center Forward. “Center Forward will continue to support centrist members like Jim who will work together to move this country forward.”

The poll of 400 likely voters in UT-04 was conducted July 26-29. It has a 4.9 percent margin of error.
