2012 ELECTIONS: Dem Super-PAC launches anti-Bono Mack ad
October 23, 2012
House Majority PAC, created to help Democrats increase their numbers in the U.S. House of Representatives, is up with a new TV ad bashing GOP Rep. Mary Bono Mack.
The ad (below) is part of the Super-PAC’s commitment to spend more than a quarter of a million dollars in the race for California’s 36th Congressional District. Unlike campaign donors, Super-PACs are allowed to raise and spend unlimited money on races, but are prohibited from coordinating their efforts with campaigns.
In total, House Majority PAC has reserved $285,000 worth of air time in the Palm Springs media market. The new ad suggests Bono Mack is out of touch with voters in the district, which stretches from the Hemet, San Jacinto and The Pass all the way to teh Arizona border.
In her seventh full term, Bono Mack, R-Palm Springs, faces a challenge from Democrat Raul Ruiz, a doctor from Coachella.
