Activists Rallied at Rep. Mast’s Office to Launch Mobile Billboard Tour of FL-18

North Palm Beach — Today, For Florida’s Future Action Fund and advocates held a healthcare rally outside Congressman Brian Mast’s office to voice their concerns over his disastrous healthcare vote.
 
At the rally, HMP launched a two-day mobile billboard tour across his district. This billboard is part of HMP’s accountability campaign to hold Congressman Brian Mast accountable for his disastrous American Health Care Act (AHCA) vote.

 
The ad targeted Congressman Mast for his unforgiveable healthcare vote, specifically because it would impose an “Age Tax” on people over 50 who would see their premiums increase to up to five times more than younger people. The mobile billboard will drive around his district for two-days and make a total of five stops.
 
“Floridians across the district are angry that Congressman Mast prioritized the profits of the wealthy and special interests ahead of healthcare for older Americans,” said Jeb Fain, Senior Communications Advisor for House Majority PAC. “Congressman Mast should be ashamed of his disastrous healthcare vote. FL-18 deserves a Representative who will stand up for their interests. The AHCA was an unforgivable vote and we want to make sure Congressman Mast’s constituents are aware of just how devastating an age tax would be for older Americans.”
 
“Not only did Brian Mast vote to kick more than 74,000 of his constituents off their care, but he sided with insurance companies to allow them to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions and impose an unfair ‘age tax’ that would skyrocket the cost of healthcare for older Floridians,” said Blake Williams, Communications Director for For Florida’s Future Action Fund. “In a district with one of the highest number of ACA beneficiaries in the country, this repeal bill would have had a disastrous impact on residents who trusted Mast to look out for their best interests.”
