Allen West Stem Cell Opposition – He Turned His Back On South Florida Family Featured In Powerful New House Majority PAC Ad

October 18, 2012

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today unveiled a powerful new TV ad that features one South Florida mother describing when Allen West literally turned his back on her son Adam – who is blind, a quadriplegic and has cerebral palsy – when she and her husband asked West about embryonic stem cell research.

In the spot, entitled “Turn,” which will air for just over a week in West Palm Beach beginning Saturday, Judy Susser explains that rather than dignify the question with a response, West simply turned and walked away without saying a word. In the ad, Judy asks, “If Allen West can turn his back on Adam, what will he do to you?”

“Turn” is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjQ8f0Lhy0E.

“When Allen West met my son, Adam, we asked for his support for embryonic stem cell research. In response, West looked at us, turned his back and walked away,” said Judy Susser of Boca Raton, Fla., who is featured in the new House Majority PAC ad. “I was shocked, it was a slap in the face.”

“Allen West is on the wrong side of issue after issue – whether it’s stem cell research or ending Medicare,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “But it speaks volumes about West that when asked to support stem cell research by a family one of whose best hopes lies in this technology, he simply turned his back and walked away.”

“Turn” is the sixth ad House Majority PAC has run in this competitive race as part of a $1.5 million West Palm Beach TV buy.
