CA-10: House Majority PAC Congratulates Josh Harder
November 14, 2018
Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC congratulates Representative-Elect Josh Harder on his victory in California’s 10th Congressional District.
“Josh Harder has spent his career working to grow the economy and bring greater opportunity to the Central Valley,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “Now, he’ll go to Washington with a fresh approach where he’ll continue to fight for families, create good paying jobs, and bring down health care costs. Josh Harder achieved a terrific victory, and House Majority PAC was proud to have played a key role in helping send a true advocate for the Central Valley to Congress.”
CA-10 is in the heart of the Central Valley, which has traditionally been challenging terrain for Democrats. However, Hillary Clinton won this district in 2016, and with the changing demographics, House Majority PAC saw early on that CA-10 would be a top-tier pick-up opportunity.
HMP ran two TV ads that showcased Jeff Denham’s disastrous health care vote. The first ad highlighted that Denham broke his promise to protect people with pre-existing conditions by supporting the GOP health care plan, which would have gutted these critical protections. Both ads went into detail about how his vote would hurt hardworking Central Valley families –imposing an “Age Tax” on older Americans, and jeopardizing insurance coverage of more than 300,000 CA-10 residents who have pre-existing conditions.
Throughout the cycle, HMP ran a number of digital ads targeting Jeff Denham on his health care vote, including running an extensive summer digital campaign across the district. Additionally, HMP partnered with CHC BOLD PAC on a digital ad slamming Denham for offering nothing but false hope and empty promises to DREAMers, and partnered with Priorities USA Action on a major digital campaign that shined a light on Denham’s vote for the GOP tax bill that will skyrocket the national debt.
HMP’s campaign also included a sixteen-piece direct mail program.
