Gottheimer Leads Garrett in New HMP Poll

October 4, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC released a new poll showing Democrat Josh Gottheimer leading incumbent Republican Congressman Scott Garrett by seven points in NJ-05. In an initial head-to-head, Gottheimer is ahead of Garrett 48% to 41%. Since June 14, House Majority PAC has invested close to $1.5 million in a media campaign against Garrett – including two TV ads in the district – “Quotes” and “Dixie.”

“NJ-05 voters are rejecting Scott Garrett as they learn more and more about his shameless bigotry and backwards views,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “The people of North Jersey are clearly tired of being embarrassed by Garrett’s bigotry and increasingly looking towards Josh Gottheimer’s energetic, commonsense leadership.”
