HMP Ad in NY-24 Spotlights Katko’s Vote for Toxic Tax Plan
October 3, 2018
Washington, DC – Today, House Majority PAC launched a new TV ad spotlighting John Katko’s vote to give tax cuts to the ultra-rich at the expense of Central New York families.
The Katko-backed tax plan gives 83 percent of the benefits to the ultra-rich while limiting critical deductions that hardworking families depend on, raising taxes on the middle class, and adding nearly $2 trillion to the debt. According to the AARP, older Americans will see their health insurance premiums increase by up to $1,500 next year. To pay for this plan, Congress intends to cut $500 billion from Medicare and Social Security.
The over $1 million buy will begin on cable and broadcast today in the Syracuse media market and on cable in the Rochester media market. The ad is titled, “Depended.”
”In Washington, John Katko has thrown Central New Yorkers under the bus,” said House Majority PAC Press Secretary Hannah Blatt. “And he’s done it all to please his party leadership – pushing their toxic agenda that gives the ultra-rich massive tax cuts while forcing hardworking families to pay for it. From health care to taxes, Katko can’t be trusted to stand up for Central New York families.”
