HMP Launches Ads Targeting Members of Congress for Lining Up Behind Paul Ryan’s Agenda

November 2, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC launched digital ads in CA-25, IA-01, ME-02, MI-08 and MN-02 slamming Reps. Knight, Blum, Poliquin, Bishop and Lewis for voting for Paul Ryan’s agenda, which puts millionaires and billionaires ahead of hardworking middle-class Americans.

The ads highlight how these members of Congress aren’t looking out for their constituents, but instead, lined up behind Paul Ryan, and his horrendous agenda. The ads specifically highlight their vote for the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which would cut taxes for the ultra-rich while imposing a terrible “Age Tax” on people over 50, who would be charged up to five times more than younger consumers.

This is part of HMP’s Paul Ryan campaign that was launched in early October. The campaign included a digital ad highlighting Paul Ryan’s push for a terrible healthcare bill, and a “Fancy Paul Ryan” website that focuses on his agenda to pad the pockets of the ultra-rich at the expense of the middle class.

“These members of Congress have turned their backs on their constituents,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “Vote after vote, they continue to fail the test, sticking with Paul Ryan and forgetting the middle class. These members all made the decision to ignore their constituents, in order to vote for a healthcare plan that would raise costs while giving tax cuts to the rich. They’ve shown where their loyalty lies—lining up behind Paul Ryan’s agenda, which prioritizes the wants and needs of the wealthy and special interests at the expense of hardworking families.”
