HMP Launches Seven New Ads in Final Week Before Election

October 30, 2018

Washington, DC – Today, House Majority PAC launched new TV ads in seven districts across the country: FL-27, IA-03, IL-13, NH-01, NY-22, WA-03, and WA-08.

“In the final week before Election Day, HMP is continuing to make sure voters from coast to coast know that Republican candidates will look out for the special interests instead of the middle class,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “They’re all in on an agenda that increases health care costs and prices for prescription drugs, raises taxes on hardworking families, and paves the way for deep cuts to critical programs like Social Security and Medicare. It’s clear – the American people can’t trust the Republican Party to stand up for them or their pocketbooks.”

A description of the ads follows:

In FL-27, the ad, titled “Not Yours,” will begin running in English on cable in the Miami media market and the ad, titled “Lado,” will begin running in Spanish on broadcast in the Miami media market. The ads highlight Maria Elvira Salazar’s support for Donald Trump’s toxic tax plan – raising taxes on Miami families and paving the way for deep cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

In IA-03, the ad, titled “Sausage,” will begin running on broadcast in the Des Moines media market. The ad showcases David Young’s support for the GOP tax plan which paves the way for cuts to Social Security and Medicare and his record of taking nearly $2 million from the ultra-wealthy and corporate interests.

In IL-13, the ad, titled “Costs Us,” will begin running on broadcast and cable in the Champaign media market. The ad shines a light on how Rodney Davis has taken $4.5 million from special interests and voted for the GOP tax plan.

In NH-01, the ad, titled “Attack,” will begin running on WMUR and on cable in the Boston media market. The ad showcases Eddie Edwards’ support for the disastrous GOP health care plan that would impose a punishing “Age Tax” on older Granite Staters.

In NY-22, the ad, titled “Bad News,” will begin running on broadcast in the Binghamton media market. The ad slams Claudia Tenney for her votes to sabotage health care and cut Medicare. Tenney voted for the disastrous GOP health care plan that would take away coverage from New Yorkers and increase costs. She also voted for a budget that makes deep cuts to Medicare, raises the eligibility age, and could even turn it into a voucher system.

In WA-03, the ad, titled “Enough,” will run on broadcast in the Portland media market. HMP and EMILY’s List’s independent expenditure operation, WOMEN VOTE! launched the ad which slams Jaime Herrera Beutler for taking $316,000 from the health care and insurance industry and voting for the disastrous GOP health care bill, which guts protections for people living with pre-existing conditions and increases prescription drug costs.

In WA-08, the ad, titled “Lifestyle,” begins running on cable and broadcast in the Seattle media market. The ad shines a light on Dino Rossi’s health care record and his support for repealing the Affordable Care Act. In Olympia, Rossi sided with drug companies to stall a bill that would have lowered drug prices, and he even voted against a bill that required state health care plans to lower costs by purchasing more affordable prescription drugs.
