HMP Poll: Johnny Garcia Statistically Tied with Carlos De La Cruz in TX-35

Washington, D.C. – A new House Majority PAC poll of Texas’ 35th Congressional District, conducted by Normington Petts from August 27-31, finds Democratic candidate Johnny Garcia statistically tied with Republican candidate Carlos De La Cruz.

Key findings from HMP’s poll include:

• Garcia and De La Cruz are statistically tied on the initial ballot test: In a head-to-head matchup, Garcia receives 44% support, while De La Cruz receives 45%.

• Governor: In a head-to-head matchup, 49% of TX-35 voters support Democrat Gina Hinojosa and 48% support Republican Greg Abbott. 

• Senate: In a head-to-head matchup, 51% of TX-35 voters support Democratic candidate James Talarico and 45% support Republican Ken Paxton, with 5% undecided.

• 2024 Recall: The 2024 recall of this poll is Trump +10.
