HMP Poll: Nancy Lacore Has a Clear Path to Victory in SC-01

Washington, D.C. – A new House Majority PAC poll of South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, conducted by GQR from July 15-22, finds Democratic candidate Nancy Lacore in a competitive position against Republican candidate Jenny Honeycutt in the race for Congress.
Key findings from HMP’s poll include:
- Nancy Lacore is within striking distance in the multi-candidate ballot test: In the initial congressional ballot test, 43% of SC-01 voters support Jenny Honeycutt, 41% support Nancy Lacore, 5% support Libertarian candidate Bill Reeside, 2% support Total Alliance Party candidate Margo Ellis, and 1% support another candidate.
- The race remains highly competitive in a head-to-head matchup: In the two-way congressional ballot, Lacore trails Honeycutt by just two points, with 48% of SC-01 voters supporting Lacore and 50% supporting Honeycutt.
- Donald Trump is underwater in SC-01: Trump’s favorability rating stands at 46% favorable and 51% unfavorable, giving him a net favorability rating of -5 in a district he carried by 13.2 points in 2024.
