HMP Poll Shows DeMaio Has Difficult Path to Victory in CA-52
July 24, 2014
Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today released a new poll showing that Democratic incumbent Scott Peters leads his Republican challenger Carl DeMaio by 5 points. At the top of the poll, the initial head-to-head shows Peters leading 48-43. After message testing, Peters’s lead grows to 9 points (48-39).
“It is clear that Scott Peters has a solid and stable lead and his constituents are happy with the job he is doing in congress. DeMaio has very little space to grow and when voters are reminded of his terrible record, his support erodes significantly,” said Matt Thornton, Communications Director for House Majority PAC.
Conducted by Karl Agne of GBA Strategies July 20-22, this live-caller poll surveyed 400 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/-4.9%.
