HMP Poll Shows Double-Digit Lead for Shea-Porter in NH-01

September 23, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC released a new poll showing Democrat Carol Shea-Porter leading Republican Frank Guinta by ten points. In an initial head-to-head with Guinta and third-party candidates, Shea-Porter is beating Guinta 44% to 34%. Independent candidates Shawn O’Connor and Brendan Kelly as well as Libertarian candidate Rob Lombardo trail at 4% each. In a head-to-head with just Guinta, Shea-Porter leads 50% to 39%.

Even worse for Guinta, Clinton is leading Trump in NH-01 by 8 points 46% to 38%, and a whopping 61% majority of voters are aware of Guinta’s campaign finance scandal. Additionally, Guinta has a negative favorable rating of 26% to 47%, with 31% rating him as “very unfavorable.”

“New Hampshire has clearly had enough of lying, scandal-ridden Congressman Frank Guinta,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “NH-01 voters want a Representative with a proven record of looking out for hard-working families, who’s earned their trust, so it’s no wonder Carol Shea-Porter enters the general election with a strong lead.”
