HMP Statement on Democrats Taking Back The House

Washington, D.C. – Following House Democrats’ decisive victory, House Majority PAC President Mike Smith issued the following statement:

“HMP is proud of the role we played in making this victory possible. Over the last two years, we recruited exceptional candidates, aligned the party around a winning economic message, fought back against Republican efforts to rig congressional maps, and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to reach the voters who ultimately decided this election. Even in the face of an unprecedented GOP spending advantage, we expanded the House battlefield deeper into Republican territory than ever before, forcing Republicans to defend their records in districts they never expected to compete in.

“Americans across the country resoundingly rejected House Republicans and Donald Trump. After two years of broken promises, skyrocketing costs, a reckless war, and rampant corruption and self-dealing, Republicans have made clear whose interests they serve: their own, not the American people’s. 

“Tonight’s results are a testament to what Democrats can accomplish when we organize around a clear message and give voters a reason to believe in a better future.
