HMP Statement on Republicans’ Government Shutdown

WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain issued the following statement regarding the Republican government shutdown:

“It’s clear that Republicans didn’t come to Washington to govern. They are willing to shut down our government rather than compromise with Democrats to find an agreement. A majority of the American people know this and will rightfully blame the Republican Party for this government shutdown. It’s time for Republicans to stop playing politics, stop punting these issues down the road, and pass a long-term commonsense solution that funds critical programs and addresses crucial priorities for hardworking families across the country.”
