House Majority PAC and AFT Solidarity Release New Ad in MN-02
October 4, 2016
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC and AFT Solidarity announced that they are jointly releasing an ad in MN-02 holding Republican nominee Jason Lewis accountable for his atrocious and offensive rhetoric. Lewis is notorious for a litany of inflammatory comments including statements defending slavery and demeaning women and has been referred to as “Minnesota’s Mini-Trump.”
The ad, titled “Worst of All,” can be viewed online here.
“If there’s a candidate running this year who’s somehow managed to be even more outrageous and offensive than Donald Trump, it’s Jason Lewis,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp. “A candidate who uses such incendiary, racist, and misogynistic rhetoric – let alone a candidate who actually believes the terrible things he says – has absolutely no place representing anyone in the United States Congress.”
“Students can’t learn when they’re bullied for their gender or race, or scared for themselves and their families because of their religion,” said Denise Specht, elementary school teacher and AFT vice president. “We can’t let the hateful words of Jason Lewis and Donald Trump shape the students who will grow into a future generation of Minnesota leaders. Every parent should ask what their children will learn from a man like Lewis, who defends slavery and calls women, ‘non-thinking.’ We can’t let him bully his way to Congress.”
HMP and AFT Solidarity are running the ad for two weeks on broadcast and cable TV, as well as digital platforms, in the Minneapolis media market.
