House Majority PAC Announces August Offensive Against House Republicans for Misguided Priorities

August 12, 2011

The House Majority PAC today is announcing the launch of a 6-figure paid advertising offensive on cable television over the August recess against some of the most vulnerable House Republicans. The ads will slam House Republicans for their misguided priorities, whether that’s ethics problems or their votes to sell out the middle class.

The latest ad campaign from the House Majority PAC comes as polling shows a record 82 percent of Americans now disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job. Just 14 percent of registered voters said that most members of Congress deserve reelection; 74 percent said that lawmakers don’t deserve another term. [New York Times/CBS News Poll, 8/4/11]

“The American people are disgusted with House Republicans’ misguided priorities and votes to throw middle class families under the bus,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “Whether it’s ethics problems or voting for tax loopholes to keep corporate profits sky high, protecting profits for companies that ship jobs to China, or ending Medicare as we know it, House Republicans have plenty to answer for back home this August recess.”

The first wave of the ad offensive starts Friday, August 12th and runs through next week in the following districts:

AR-02 Tim Griffin
CO-03 Scott Tipton
MN-08 Chip Cravaack

The ads were produced by Waterfront Strategies. Click here to watch the cable TV ad targeting Republican Congressman Scott Tipton (CO-03).
