House Majority PAC Announces August Offensive Against Scott Tipton for Ethics Problems

August 12, 2011

The House Majority PAC today is launching a 6-figure paid advertising offensive on cable television over the August recess against some of the most vulnerable House Republicans in the country including Congressman Scott Tipton for their misguided priorities.

The new ad against Congressman Tipton slams him for his serious ethics problems.

The latest ad campaign from the House Majority PAC comes as polling shows a record 82 percent of Americans now disapprove of the way Congress is handling its job. Just 14 percent of registered voters said that most members of Congress deserve reelection; 74 percent said that lawmakers don’t deserve another term. [New York Times/CBS News Poll, 8/4/11]

“It only took eight months, but the American people are disgusted with House Republicans like Congressman Scott Tipton for their misguided priorities, whether it’s over ethics problems or votes to throw middle class families under the bus,” said Alixandria Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “Not only did Congressman Tipton vote to end Medicare as we know it, but he also knowingly funneled taxpayers’ dollars to his family’s business. Tipton, one of the most vulnerable House Republicans in the country, has plenty to answer for back home this August recess.”

The ad against Tipton starts Friday, August 12th and runs through next week.
