House Majority PAC Announces New York War Room Hires
June 14, 2023
New York, NY – House Majority PAC today announced the hiring of Dora Pekec and Alisha Heng as New York Press Secretaries and Ceara Gilmartin-Donohue as New York Rapid Response Researcher. The news follows February’s announcement of HMP’s $45 million New York Fund to win back the Democratic House majority in 2024.
“Democrats cannot take back the House without New York and HMP is going to do everything we can to hold extremist Republicans accountable,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Abby Curran Horrell. “Dora, Alisha, and Ceara will play a critical role in ensuring Republicans in New York are held accountable for their extremism in the eyes of voters. Their experience and drive will prove essential in winning back these seats come 2024.”
Dora Pekec was most recently the Campaign Manager for a winning City Council race in Chicago. Prior to that, she was a Senior Research Associate for Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s re-election campaign. She is an HMP alum, and has previously worked in research for EMILY’s List, communications for North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, and as a field organizer for Sara Gideon’s U.S. Senate run. She is a graduate of Duke University.
Alisha Heng was most recently the Digital Director for the Office of Congressman Glenn Ivey. During the 2022 cycle, Heng worked as the Deputy Communications Director for Congressman Dan Goldman’s campaign for New York’s 10th Congressional District. Previously, she also served on the communications team for Voters of Tomorrow and the Office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. She attended Johns Hopkins University.
Ceara Gilmartin-Donohue was most recently a Senior Research Associate at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. During the 2020 cycle, Gilmartin-Donohue worked at the DCCC as a Research Tracker. Prior to that, she was a field organizer on Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Presidential Campaign.
