House Majority PAC Going Up In Four Districts – CA-07, CO-06, IN-02, MI-01

October 17, 2012

New Spending Totals Nearly $1.2 Million

Washington, D.C. – As House Majority PAC continues on offense against extreme Republicans, the organization today announced it would begin running new ads in four districts – including House Majority PAC’s first spot in IN-02. House Majority PAC announced late last week that it would make new buys in these contested Congressional races in response to increased spending from outside Republican groups.

CA-07 – “How Come” focuses on Dan Lungren’s opposition to embryonic stem cell research and the potential treatments for debilitating illnesses, injuries and previously incurable diseases it offers. The spot will run on Sacramento cable for nearly a week at a cost of $115,000.

This is the second spot House Majority PAC has run in the competitive 7th District during the general election. The first, “Pocket,” showed that Dan Lungren is looking out for Wall Street, not Californians on Main Street.

CO-06 – “Stand” shows how scarily out of touch Mike Coffman is with Colorado, given his hostility towards embryonic stem cell research, opposition to abortion even in the case of rape and incest – and the additional step Coffman took to redefine rape, potentially excluding as victims those who are minors or were drugged. “Stand” will run in Denver for a week at a cost of $525,000.

This is House Majority PAC’s second spot in CO-06. The first, “Decides,” focused exclusively on Coffman’s opposition to embryonic stem cell research and the effect it has on Coloradans.

IN-02 – “Betrayal,” House Majority PAC’s first Indiana ad, takes Jackie Walorski to task for having the absolute wrong priorities for the Hoosier State. Walorski supports permitting insurance companies to discriminate against women, allowing them to charge women higher rates than men and deny essential care like cancer screenings, maternity care and mammograms. The ad will run in South Bend for one week at a cost of $175,000.

MI-01 – “Even Harder” shows that Dan Benishek’s agenda in Congress has already made life for Michigan’s middle class even harder. Benishek voted to block middle class tax cuts, against foreclosure relief and to cut college assistance – all white supporting tax breaks for companies that ship American jobs overseas. The spot will run in Traverse City and Marquette for one week at a cost of $340,000.

This is House Majority PAC’s second MI-01 spot. The first, “Out of Step,” made clear that Dan Benishek simply has priorities that are out of touch with northern Michigan.

Today’s announcement comes on top of what House Majority PAC already announced earlier this week: new ads and spending in FL-18, IL-10, IL-17 and MN-08.
