House Majority PAC Launches $2.4 Million Ad Buy Against Joe Walsh, Illinois Republicans
October 9, 2012
Democrats are trying to make Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), one of Congress’ most outspoken members, a liability for his fellow Republicans stuck in tight Illinois congressional races.
In a new ad paid for by the Democratic House Majority PAC and labor union SEIU, Reps. Judy Biggert (R-Ill.) and Bob Dold (R-Ill.) are accused of “hiding behind Joe Walsh’s loud talk.” The ad will run in heavy rotation for two weeks.
“Judy Biggert and Bob Dold voted with Walsh against mortgage relief and to give tax cuts to millionaires,” says the narrator in the spot, after a clip showing Walsh yelling, “Don’t blame banks!“
The ad also features Walsh at a recent town hall, where he said women’s rights activist Sandra Fluke should “go get a job.”
“Dold and Biggert voted with Walsh against affordable contraceptives and cancer screenings,” says the narrator.
