House Majority PAC Making New Buys in Seven Districts

October 12, 2012

Responding to increased spending by Republican outside groups (Crossroads GPS this morning announced an $8.1 million spending blitz across 11 House districts), the Democratic-aligned House Majority PAC is making new buys in a slew of House districts:

Next week:
$115,000 in California’s 7th District, where GOP Rep. Dan Lungren is being challenged by Democrat Ami Bera.
$130,000 in the Rockford media market for Illinois’s 17th District, where GOP Rep. Bobby Schilling faces Democrat Cheri Bustos.
$200,000 in the Marquette and Traverse City media markets for Michigan’s 1st District, where GOP Rep. Dan Benishek (R) is facing state Rep. Gary McDowell.
$175,000 in Indiana’s 2nd District, where Democratic Army veteran Brendan Mullen faces 2010 GOP nominee Jackie Walorski.
$500,000 in Colorado’s 6th District (on top of a buy for an ad they announced earlier today), where GOP Rep. Mike Coffman is being challenged by Democratic state Rep. Joe Miklosi.

Plus, $425,000 in the Hartford media market the week prior to the election for Connecticut’s 5th District, where former Democratic state Rep. Elizabeth Esty faces GOP state Sen. Andrew Roraback. And in New York’s 27th District, where Democratic Rep. Kathy Hochul faces former GOP Erie County Executive Chris Collins, the group is increasing spending by $150,000 to $650,000. The buy will go through Election Day.
