House Majority PAC On-Air Against Blum in IA-01
September 13, 2016
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC began airing the group’s first ad in the race for Iowa’s First Congressional District. The ad, titled “Pressure,”points out Congressman Rod Blum’s long-running, dangerous record on Social Security for Iowa’s seniors. Blum has voted to increase the Social Security retirement age to 70 and even called for privatizing Social Security in an op-ed in Dubuque’s Telegraph Herald.
“Pressure” can be viewed online here.
“Congressman Blum’s radical agenda for seniors would mean unbearable pressure for Iowans who have worked hard and paid into the Social Security their whole lives,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “Blum’s dangerous plans for Social Security are just plain wrong for Iowa.”
“Pressure” is currently airing as part of a more than $300,000 broadcast buy in the Cedar Rapids media market. The Cedar Rapids buy against Blum was part of House Majority PAC’s first round of early airtime reservations which the group placed in March.
The $300,000 airtime buy will also be further augmented with a more than $53,000 digital buy for “Pressure” and future ads in the district.
