House Majority PAC, a super PAC dedicated to electing Democrats to the House of Representatives, raised more than $5.2 million in the first three months of 2014, according to a press release on Wednesday.
The super PAC said its first quarter total for 2014 represents an improvement of more than $3.7 million as compared to what the group raised during the same period in 2012.
“This impressive fundraising total shows that Democratic donors are committed to combatting the millions the Koch Brothers are spending in an attempt to buy the House of Representatives,” Executive Director Alixandria Lapp said in the release. “We are making wise investments in races across the board where we can make a real difference.”
The super PAC raised more than $12.7 million this election cycle from over 16,000 donors, according to its release.
President Barack Obama will headline a fundraiser for the super PAC sometime this year as it works to win back the House.
House Majority PAC has already spent money this cycle protecting vulnerable incumbents such as Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.) and hitting Republican targets like Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.).
