House Majority PAC Releases First Ad in Fight for CO-03

September 20, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC launched the group’s first TV ad in the race for Colorado’s Third Congressional District. The ad, titled “Protect,” takes Congressman Scott Tipton to task for selling out Coloradans to Washington special interests while highlighting Democratic nominee and state Senator Gail Schwartz’s commitment to protecting Colorado’s public lands, jobs, and rural way of life. In particular, the ad spotlights how, as reported by the Denver Post, a draft bill by Tipton was “largely written by [his] biggest campaign contributor” – an oil & gas company – as well as how Tipton’s plans would threaten the livelihood of local businesses.

“Protect” can be viewed online here.

“Congressman Tipton blatantly betrayed the needs of Colorado families and small businesses in order to benefit his financial backers in big oil & gas,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “Gail Schwartz understands the environmental and economic importance of protecting Colorado’s public lands. Unlike Tipton, Gail Schwartz will always put the needs of Colorado families and small businesses first in Congress.”

“Protect” begins airing today as part of a more than $800,000 broadcast reservation in the Denver and Colorado Springs media markets which runs through October 3. For later this fall, HMP has previously reserved approximately $230,000 in the Colorado Springs media market and $130,000 in the Grand Junction media market to target the CO-03 race, as well as $3 million in the Denver media market to target the races in CO-03 and CO-06.
