House Majority PAC Releases FL-13 Spot

February 11, 2014

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today released its first ad in the FL-13 special election, hitting Republican David Jolly, whose positions, the Tampa Bay Times noted over the weekend, “do not reflect the mainstream views of this congressional district.”

One perfect example of that dissonance is reflected in House Majority PAC’s new ad. The spot, entitled “Privatized,” hits Jolly over his lobbying work for an extreme group that wanted to privatize Social Security and risk it in the stock market.

“Privatized” will run as part of House Majority PAC’s previously announced $650,000, two-week buy in FL-13. It can be viewed here:

The ad is timed to begin running as vote-by-mail voters in Pinellas County are receiving their ballots, which the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections reports were shipped out February 7.

“David Jolly has tried to deny it, but the facts are as plain as day: as a D.C. lobbyist, Jolly worked on behalf of a right-wing organization that pushed for the privatization of Social Security,” said Andy Stone, Communications Director for House Majority PAC. “As the non-partisan AARP noted, Jolly’s privatization plan would reduce benefits and eliminate the Social Security guarantee. Time after time, David Jolly has proved he just isn’t on the side of Pinellas County.”
