House Majority PAC Statement On Michele Bachmann’s Decision Not To Seek Reelection

May 29, 2013

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp released the following statement this morning on Rep. Michele Bachmann’s announcement that she will not seek reelection.

“Michele Bachmann’s decision to retire from Congress is good news for the people of Minnesota and our nation. Bachmann was one of House Majority PAC’s top ten targets for many reasons: her out-of-touch and extreme right-wing views, her penchant for making repeated false and outlandish statements and the growing investigation into unethical and potentially even criminal activities.

“House Majority PAC remains committed to defeating Republicans like Michele Bachmann. We are confident that we would have helped defeat her next November, but Bachmann voluntarily removing herself from Congress is a victory we can all celebrate today. We will closely follow this open seat race and believe that Jim Graves is a very strong candidate who can pick up this seat for Democrats in 2014.”
