Dem Super PAC Spent Nearly $500,000 in Race Airing Two TV Ads Called “Devastatingly Effective”
Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp released the following statement after Ron Barber’s victory was confirmed in the special election to fill the remainder of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ term in Congress:
“Southern Arizona voters had the opportunity to assess Jesse Kelly’s extreme record of support for eliminating Medicare, Social Security, the minimum wage and all corporate taxes and they rejected it outright.
“Yet all across the country, House Republicans have backed plans to end Medicare as we know it and gut the social safety net – and the results in Arizona should put them on notice. Just as House Majority PAC did in southern Arizona, we will hold these Republicans accountable for their extreme efforts to end the Medicare guarantee and deny future retirees the promise of secure, affordable health coverage while giving more tax breaks to the wealthiest among us.”
House Majority PAC spent nearly $500,000 airing two television ads in the race that have been called “devastatingly effective.” National Journal termed the second of the two ads the “most memorable” of the race.
