House Majority PAC Takes Fight Against Garrett to Land, Sea, & Sky

June 30, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC announced a major expansion of its media campaign against New Jersey Republican Congressman Scott Garrett and his disgraceful anti-LGBT bigotry. The expanded campaign includes an airplane banner which will be visible at beaches along the Jersey Shore this July 4 weekend and billboards which will go up along New Jersey Route 17. The airplane banner and billboards will direct voters to a new website, www.GarrettBigotry.com, where they can view HMP’s TV ad “Quotes.”

“Quotes” amplifies concerns raised about Garrett by New Jersey newspapers and spotlights how multiple businesses have distanced themselves from Garrett in light of his bigotry. The ad, which has been airing on cable across New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District since June 14 with a buy of approximately $240,000, will also be further boosted with an additional buy of approximately $80,000.

“From land, sea, and sky, House Majority PAC is making sure as many voters as possible learn the facts about Congressman Garrett’s hateful agenda,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “Scott Garrett’s bigoted views have no place in Congress, and they won’t fly with North Jersey voters this November.”

Additional details on components of the expanded media campaign follow.

Website

HMP has created a new website, www.GarrettBigotry.com, where users can watch the anti-Garrett ad “Quotes.” The website will also enable users to learn more about Garrett’s anti-LGBT record and the widespread denouncements Garrett has received in response with links to news articles and editorials detailing Congressman Garrett’s shameless bigotry.

Airplane Banner

Via sea and sky, HMP will reach NJ-05 voters vacationing along the Jersey Shore with an airplane banner that will be visible at beaches from Belmar to Sandy Hook on July 3 and July 4.

The airplane banner will direct voters to GarrettBigotry.com and be followed by a letter trail that reads “SCOTT GARRETT: ANTI-GAY BIGOTRY WONT FLY”.

Billboards

On land, HMP will target NJ-05 commuters with three billboards along Route 17 in Bergen County. The billboards will similarly spotlight the concerns raised by local press about Garrett’s bigotry and direct voters to GarrettBigotry.com. The billboards will be at the following locations:
