The House Majority PAC has ordered a $1 million in air time to run ads in Tucson and the Phoenix markets this October.
The left-leaning super PAC, which has aired ads supporting Reps. Ron Barber and Ann Kirkpatrick in the recent weeks, is expected to spend a majority of the million dollar figure in the Phoenix market.
Public documents filed with KGUN show the ABC affiliate will air $41,450 in ads in the second week of October, with a total of $142,931 expected to be spent in the Tucson market.
The FCC, which requires the disclosure, does not require smaller markets (including Tucson) to put those files online. The federal law will change on July 1, requiring all ad buys to be posted online.
Filings with Valley-based news stations suggest House Majority PAC will spend and $417,000 between Oct. 14 and Oct. 20.
The order is subject to change, but the buying of the air time this early in the political cycle assures that the non-candidate ads will air in the weeks preceding the general election.
Recent ads from the House Majority PAC include:
“Fool You” (A CD2 ad focusing on GOP candidate Martha McSally)
“Hidden” (A CD1 ad focusing on Republican candidate Andy Tobin)
