House Majority PAC’s Ali Lapp on NY-26 Special Election

House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp released the following statement on Kathy Hochul’s upset victory last night in the Special Election in New York’s 26th Congressional District:

House Majority PAC was proud to have invested nearly $400,000 in educating voters in NY-26 about Corwin’s support for House Republicans’ radical budget that not only ends Medicare as we know it, but also increases the national debt by providing giveaways to millionaires and big oil companies.

With this stunning upset victory, the House Majority PAC made clear we will aggressively go after House Republicans’ extreme agenda, we will fight back against the powerful voices on the Extreme Right, and we will win.

Background:

• The House Majority PAC matched American Crossroads dollar-for-dollar once our ads began airing on May 17.
• The ad ran on cable and broadcast television. The offensive started on May 17th and went through Election Day.
• The ad attacked Jane Corwin for supporting the House Republican budget that essentially ends Medicare and increases the national debt. The ad can be viewed here.
• This was House Majority PAC’s first television ad. In April, we ran radio ads against 10 freshmen Republicans.
