Jane Corwin’s Support for Republican Budget to End Medicare in Latest TV Ad

May 17, 2011

Today the House Majority PAC is launching a paid advertising offensive in the special election in New York’s 26th District against Jane Corwin. The ad highlights Corwin’s support for the House Republican budget that essentially ends Medicare and increases the national debt by providing budget-busting tax breaks for millionaires and big oil companies.

“We will make sure voters in NY-26 are aware of Jane Corwin’s support for a budget that not only ends Medicare as we know it, but also increases the national debt by providing giveaways to millionaires and big oil companies,” said Ali Lapp, Executive Director, House Majority PAC. “Asking seniors to sacrifice while the debt rises and the wealthy benefit isn’t a budget plan; it’s a sham.”

Below is the transcript for the ad, entitled “Sham.”

Jane Corwin.

CORWIN FROM AD: “we can’t keep piling on debt for future generations.”

But the budget Corwin supports actually increases the national debt by 8 trillion dollars over ten years.
While Corwin’s plan would “essentially end Medicare”…

…it increases the debt by giving tax breaks to big oil and millionaires.

Seniors sacrifice…

The wealthy gain…

…our debt skyrockets.

Jane Corwin. That’s not a plan. That’s a sham.
