June Poll Revealed That McDowell and Benishek Were Essentially Tied
Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC, AFSCME and the League of Conservation Voters today released a poll in Michigan’s First Congressional District that showed Democrat Gary McDowell leading Republican Dan Benishek by nine points, 49 to 40 percent.
Just three months ago a poll conducted for the groups showed that the two candidates were essentially tied, 40 to 38 percent, with Benishek enjoying a small lead that was well within the margin of error.
Both polls were conducted by Garin-Hart-Yang Research. The September poll surveyed 402 likely voters in MI-01 from September 18-20. It has a margin of error of 4.9 percent.
