National Ad Holds House Republicans Responsible for Trump
November 1, 2016
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC announced the group is running a national ad holding House Republicans responsible for putting party ahead of country and principles by supporting or enabling their misogynist, racist, and divisive presidential ticket-mate, Donald Trump. The ad, titled “Just Can’t,” is airing on TV in eight different Congressional races across the country in eight different versions. Each version of the spot takes a House Republican Member or candidate to task for their long-standing support for, defense of, or refusal to disavow Trump.
“Over the past year, House Republicans have stood with and stood by Donald Trump as he took our country’s national discourse to horrific new lows – demeaning women, Latinos, Muslims, the disabled, veterans, and countless other Americans,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp. “Some House Republicans astoundingly still back Trump. Others have desperately tried to feign distance as Trump’s campaign has imploded. Every single one of them should be ashamed of themselves for enabling this horrendous man’s rise as the leader of their party.”
Versions of the ad targeting Republican candidates and Members begin airing on TV today in CO-06, IA-03, MN-03, NY-01, NY-24, PA-08, and WI-08 and will continue through Election Day. Another version targeting, Congressman Will Hurd has been airing in TX-23 since last Tuesday and will run through Election Day. The airtime buys for the ads total approximately $4.7 million across the eight districts.
