New HMP Poll Shows Vernon in Statistical Tie with Blum

October 12, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC released a new poll showing Democrat Monica Vernon in a dead heat with incumbent Republican Congressman Rod Blum in the race for Iowa’s First Congressional District. An initial head-to-head puts Vernon at 44% and Blum at 45% with 11% undecided. The poll also shows Blum below 50% on every key measure for an incumbent including his favorable rating (37% favorable and 29% unfavorable.)

“IA-01 voters are getting tired of Congressman Blum’s extreme, out-of-touch politics,” said House Majority PAC Communications Director Jeb Fain. “Democrats are increasingly well-positioned to win this competitive race come November.”
