September 17, 2025
Washington, D.C. – A new House Majority PAC survey of TX-15 finds GOP Rep. Monica De La Cruz is deeply vulnerable and Democratic candidate Bobby Pulido is well-positioned to defeat her in 2026.
Key findings from HMP’s poll include:
- Monica De La Cruz has yet to establish a clear profile with TX-15 voters: Just 33% of TX-15 constituents said they approved of her job performance and 33% disapproved, while 34% were unsure. Likewise, just 33% held a favorable opinion of her, 33% held an unfavorable opinion of her, and 34% were unsure.
- TX-15 constituents express serious concerns about Monica De La Cruz’s record—presenting multiple potent lines of attack against the incumbent. HMP’s polling suggests De La Cruz could be highly vulnerable if voters are informed of her stances on the following issues:
- Crime: After learning that De La Cruz supported pardoning a violent criminal who was later arrested for child sex crimes, 54% said this gave them very serious concerns and 18% said somewhat serious concerns about De La Cruz.
- Tax Cuts for Millionaires: After learning that De La Cruz supported cutting taxes for big corporations and millionaires like herself while raising taxes on working families in the Valley, 56% said this gave them very serious concerns and 13% said it gave them somewhat serious concerns about De La Cruz.
- Tariffs and the “Big Beautiful Bill”: After learning that De La Cruz supports new tariffs that are raising costs and voted for the Republican budget that cuts Medicaid and SNAP while giving billionaires tax breaks, 52% said this gave them very serious concerns and 9% said it gave them somewhat serious concerns about De La Cruz.
- Crime: After learning that De La Cruz supported pardoning a violent criminal who was later arrested for child sex crimes, 54% said this gave them very serious concerns and 18% said somewhat serious concerns about De La Cruz.
- Bobby Pulido is already within striking distance: In a head-to-head matchup, 38% of TX-15 constituents said they would vote for Bobby Pulido and 41% said they would vote for Monica De La Cruz, with 21% undecided.
- Pulido significantly outperforms the generic Democrat—even in a Trump +16 district. Pulido is winning over about 7% of voters who would otherwise support Republicans or are undecided—and 95% of those crossover voters backed Trump in 2024—indicating that Pulido’s unique candidate profile is winning him crossover appeal.
