New HMP Polling Shows JoAnna Mendoza Leading Juan Ciscomani in AZ-06

Washington, D.C. – A new House Majority PAC survey of AZ-06 finds Democratic candidate JoAnna Mendoza leading GOP Rep. Juan Ciscomani in a head-to-head matchup.
HMP’s poll found:
- JoAnna Mendoza leads Juan Ciscomani in a head-to-head matchup: When AZ-06 constituents were asked to choose between Democrat JoAnna Mendoza and Republican Juan Ciscomani, 42% said they would vote for Mendoza and 41% said they would vote for Ciscomani. 17% were not sure.
- Juan Ciscomani’s favorability rating is underwater: When AZ-06 constituents were asked if they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Juan Ciscomani, 49% said unfavorable, while just 32% said favorable. 20% said they were not sure.
- Juan Ciscomani’s approval rating is also underwater: When AZ-06 constituents were asked if they approved or disapproved of Juan Ciscomani’s job performance, 48% said they disapproved, while just 31% said they approved. 21% said they were not sure.
- On government shutdown: A 46% plurality of AZ-06 constituents said Juan Ciscomani isn’t doing his job to reopen the government and end the shutdown, compared to just 29% who said he is. 25% said they were not sure.
- AZ-06 constituents express serious concerns about Juan Ciscomani’s record—presenting multiple potent lines of attack against the incumbent.HMP’s polling suggests Ciscomani could be highly vulnerable if voters are informed of his stances on the following issues:
- Crime: After learning that Ciscomani supported pardoning a violent criminal who was later arrested for child sex crimes, 47% said this gave them very serious concerns and 8% said somewhat serious concerns about Ciscomani.
- Economy: After learning that Ciscomani supports new tariffs that are raising costs and voted for the Republican budget that cuts Medicaid and SNAP while giving billionaires tax breaks, 47% said this gave them very serious concerns and 8% said it gave them somewhat serious concerns about Ciscomani.
- Crime: After learning that Ciscomani supported pardoning a violent criminal who was later arrested for child sex crimes, 47% said this gave them very serious concerns and 8% said somewhat serious concerns about Ciscomani.
