New National Ad Targets “Fancy Paul Ryan”
March 15, 2018
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC announced that the group is launching a new national TV ad targeting Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan. The ad, titled “Fancy Paul Ryan,” exposes Ryan for being a fancy Washington politician who puts special interests ahead of hardworking middle-class families. The spot will begin airing today nationwide on cable news networks. In addition to major cable news networks, over the next week, the ad will also air on local broadcast news in the Milwaukee media market, which covers almost all of Ryan’s WI-01 Congressional District.
“Paul Ryan’s gotten a pass for far too long,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “Those days are over. Ryan is deeply unpopular across the country, and it’s because so many hardworking Americans know the truth – he’s a fancy politician who won’t stand up for them or their families. And if they don’t already know that, we’re going to make sure they do. Democrats are on offense. The battleground map is expanding every day, and a big reason why is that Paul Ryan and his disastrous agenda are such a massive drag for Republicans in districts from coast to coast. From increased healthcare premiums to the GOP tax scam, Ryan’s toxic, out-of-touch policies are going to cost him and his party severely in November.”
In Tuesday’s special election for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District, Democrat Conor Lamb won in an R+11 seat that went for Trump by 20 points in 2016. Ryan’s district is R+5, and Trump won it by half as much as PA-18 in 2016.
