NY War Room: ICYMI – Scathing LTE Hits Molinaro For His MAGA Allegiance Amid Speakers Votes

October 23, 2023

New York, NY – In case you missed it, a letter to the editor in the Daily Freeman slammed Marc Molinaro for voting for hard-right, election-denying extremist Jim Jordan twice.

Adding flames to the fire, Molinaro made sure to diss his own constituents in a pathetic justification for his vote: “Most people I represent wouldn’t know the Speaker of the House if they backed over them with a pickup truck.”

“By voting for ultraconservative election-denier Jim Jordan, Marc Molinaro has once again decided to insult the Hudson Valley instead of standing up for his own constituents in Washington,” said HMP New York Press Secretary Dora Pekec. “Marc Molinaro’s willingness to cave to MAGA extremism is dangerous and deeply misrepresentative of NY-19, and he will be voted out in 2024.”

Read the full letter below:

“Nineteenth Congressional District Representative Marc Molinaro has twice voted for extremist Jim Jordan for House Speaker.

Jim Jordan — a supporter of the Jan. 6 insurrection, who personally leads the phony “investigations” of President Biden and the Justice Department. Jordan’s extreme non-policies against women and human rights would be a disaster as speaker.

Molinaro consistently votes with the MAGA team, but still hopes he fools us with his glib talk of “moderate.”

In The New York Times on Oct. 19, 2023, he “justifies” his allegiance: “Representative Marc Molinaro, a moderate narrowly flipped a Biden District on promises of bipartisanship — appeared to have reached a very different conclusion — voting for Jordan. The damage of elongating the House’s paralysis would be worse than electing a right-wing speaker whose policy and style are different than his.

Molinaro, before voting: “Most people I represent wouldn’t know the speaker of the house if they backed over them with a pickup truck,” he said. An attitude of disdain and insult towards his constituents, couldn’t be more evident, which is why he doesn’t care about a moderate and fairer assessment of who we are.

That is why voting in every election is so important. It is our citizen privilege and opportunity to get it right with good people who respect and honor the people they represent. Marc Molinaro isn’t one of them.
