NY War Room: MAGA Mike Lawler Caught Lying About His Support of Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Agenda

New York, NY – MAGA Republican Mike Lawler was caught lying about his voting similarities with Marjorie Taylor Greene to Halston Media, claiming that he “voted with MAGA extremist Marjorie Taylor Greene 80 percent of the time.” 

It’s not the first time he’s tried to distance himself from MTG. Earlier this month, he told CNN, “I’ve already disagreed with her nearly 20% of the time.” Yet a recent scorecard released by the Center for American Progress placed him voting with Marjorie Taylor Greene 85.1 percent of the time.

Here is how Mike Lawler has already supported MTG’s MAGA extremist agenda:

• Backing extreme anti-abortion measures, including one that would have punished doctors for providing reproductive care.
• Rolling back gun safety measures by voting for the NRA-endorsed pistol brace accessory rule and not signing on to the discharge petitions for the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and Enhanced Background Checks Act.
• Cutting Social Security and Medicare to rip away health care and retirement savings for millions of Americans.

“Despite MAGA Mike Lawler’s attempt to distance himself from MAGA extremist Marjorie Taylor Greene, his voting record unequivocally proves he is in lockstep with radical MAGA extremists,” HMP NY Press Secretary Alisha Heng said. “New Yorkers will not support two-faced MAGA Mike as he endangers their rights and livelihoods by supporting the agenda of fringe conspiracy theorist Majorie Taylor Greene and will ensure he is a one-term Congressman in 2024.”
