NY War Room: Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito Refuse to Oppose Trump’s Vows To Terminate Affordable Care Act
November 29, 2023
New York, NY – In the past week, GOP leader Donald Trump called on Republicans to terminate the Affordable Care Act and reaffirmed his plans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Meanwhile, vulnerable Long Island Republicans Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito have refused to oppose Trump’s destructive plan to terminate the ACA.
A repeal of the Affordable Care Act would put 135 million Americans with pre-existing conditions at risk with, 54 million of these Americans having no access to health insurance of any kind.
Additionally, the termination of the Affordable Care Act would be devastating, with rural communities deserted as hospitals and health care providers are forced to shut down, millions of Americans being unable to access preventative care such as cancer screenings and annual check-ups, and insurance companies freely the inflating cost of coverage while 49 million seniors struggle to obtain their life-saving prescriptions.
While Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito continue to campaign alongside Mike Johnson, who voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act and wholeheartedly endorsed Donald Trump, the question remains: Will LaLota and D’Esposito stand up for their Long Islanders and denounce Trump’s destructive plan to terminate health care for millions?
“Nick LaLota and Anthony D’Esposito have long abandoned Long Islanders for the MAGA agenda, which includes terminating the Affordable Care Act and stripping access to health care from millions of Americans,” HMP NY Press Secretary Alisha Heng said. “Instead of advocating for Long Islanders, LaLota and D’Esposito remain silent, refusing to denounce Trump’s vows to put Big Pharma profits over the lives of working-class Americans, and HMP is looking forward to voting them out in 2024.”
