NY War Room: On The Anniversary Of Dobbs, Mike Lawler Still Will Not Shake MAGA Extremists

New York, NY – Ahead of the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, self-proclaimed “moderate” Rep. Mike Lawler continues to dodge questions on his abortion stance. 

This comes as no surprise, given Rep. Mike Lawler’s history of “vehement opposition” to abortion and comments proclaiming expanding abortion access in New York was “aligning [the state] with nations like China and North Korea.”

Radical Republicans in the House want to criminalize every aspect of abortion and put women across the country into life-threatening scenarios with senseless national bans. 

Despite refusing to answer to his constituents on where he stands, Rep. Mike Lawler’s actions speak louder than his lack of words. Lawler joined the most extreme MAGA House members by voting to throw doctors performing certain life-saving reproductive care in prison.

“New Yorkers need their representatives in Congress to commit to opposing backwards, dangerous restrictions on abortion,” said HMP New York Press Secretary Dora Pekec. “Despite calling himself a moderate, Rep. Mike Lawler’s record on reproductive rights makes it abundantly clear he is no different than his most extreme colleagues in the House who want to criminalize abortion and punish women and doctors.”
