NY War Room: Why Won’t Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams Celebrate One Year of the Inflation Reduction Act
August 16, 2023
New York, NY – On the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, vulnerable Republicans Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams still refuse to acknowledge how their districts have benefitted from IRA funding while continuing to tout its achievements.
A reminder of how the Inflation Reduction Act helps New Yorkers:
- Lowering costs of prescription drugs by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and establishing a $35 cap per monthly prescription of insulin.
- Creating good-paying jobs by bringing billions in investments in large-scale clean power generation and storage to New York and a historic set of tax credits that will create jobs across solar, wind, storage, and other clean energy industries.
- Lowering costs and bringing supply chains home by incentivizing domestic production in clean energy technologies, promoting domestic sourcing, and American jobs through tax credits.
- Supporting middle and working-class families by going after corporations who have evaded paying their fair share for too long and making sure no families making less than $400,000 pays a cent more in taxes.
“On the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, MAGA Republicans Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams continue to take credit for the historic achievements made possible by Democrats and President Biden while doing nothing to help New Yorkers,” HMP NY Press Secretary Alisha Heng said. “Voters see that Lawler, Molinaro, and Williams would much rather cater to their rich donors while neglecting constituents and will ensure they are one-term Congressmen in 2024.”
