NY War Room: Will Anthony D’Esposito, George Santos, and Nick LaLota Denounce the GOP Plan to Privatize Medicare and Raise the Retirement Age for Social Security?

New York, NY – The recently unveiled budget proposal by the Republican Study Committee (RSC), of which Nick LaLota is a member, details renewing efforts to privatize Medicare and raise the retirement age for Social Security. 

The proposal outlines major changes, including raising the full retirement age to 69 and privatizing Medicare. It also includes plans to repeal the progress made on health insurance subsidies, prescription drug costs, and infrastructure investments passed last year in President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.

“Anthony D’Esposito, George Santos, and Nick LaLota continue to turn their backs on millions of New Yorkers by refusing to denounce a radical proposal that would tear away Social Security and Medicare and repeal the crucial progress made on infrastructure, energy, and affordability,” said HMP New York Press Secretary Alisha Heng. “Extremist Republicans have doubled down on slashing social programs to appease their rich Republican donors. House Majority PAC will ensure that they are held accountable and voted out in 2024.”
